RULES AND INFORMATION
The General Rules of the Wise County Youth Fair and the following rules will govern the Dairy Goat show.

BREEDING DAIRY DOES
1. Does must be checked in on Tuesday to be eligible to show. Judging will begin with Jr does. Milking Does & kids being bottle fed may arrive in barn by 7 am Tuesday. Females will be released following the show.

2. Registration papers will be checked on all entries at check-in. Dairy goats under six months of age will require a registration paper OR a copy of dam’s papers and an ADGA registration application.

3. Breeding Dairy does must be dehorned and show no secondary horn growth in excess of one inch from skull. Measurement will be taken from the base of the skull to the inside tip of the horn. All Dairy Goats will abide by the ADGA rule that disqualifies Dairy Goats with more than two teats.

4. No bucks allowed at show over 2 months of age.

5. Breeding Dairy Goats will be judged according to ADGA rules and be shown by breeds as follows: AOP, Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf and Recorded Grade. (AOP includes: Alpine, Lamancha, Saanen, Toggenburg, Oberhasli, Sables and Golden Guernsey)

6. Dairy exhibitors are recommended to dress in a white shirt and white or black pants.

7. Breeding Dairy Goats must be groomed and clipped before coming to the fair grounds. Breeding Dairy Does are recommended to have a winter clip.

8. Does entered in regular classes can participate in group classes, no extra charge. 

9. A substitution fee of $5.00 may be paid and a substitution made upon arrival to the WCYF Secretary.

JUNIOR DOE (Arrival—Tuesday)
1. Birth to under 3 months
2. 3 months and under 6 months
3. 6 months and under 12 months
4. 12 months and under 24 months


SENIOR DOE (Arrival—Tuesday)
5. Under 2 years in milk (or had freshened before)
6. 2 years and under 3 years
7. 3 years and under 4 years
8. 4 years and older

GROUP CLASSES
9. Dairy Herd—3 or more owned by same family.
10. Produce of Dam—2 or more daughters of same Dam.
11. Get of Sire—2 or more daughters of same Sire.
